The importance of third party Shopify apps
The Shopify App Store provides incredible value for merchants of all sizes. Shopify apps fill gaps and functionality in your online store, allowing you to serve customers better, and much more.
It’s important to remember that for every third-party app you install you are adding a new dependency or point of failure to your online store. Luckily, with Uptime’s Automated Testing Flows, whenever you install a third party app that injects code or changes your theme, we’ll automatically run all your test flows to ensure the app didn’t break any core functionality on your theme.
But especially as apps begin to drive critical infrastructure on the online store, like subscription checkouts, shipping & fulfillment, and upsells, it’s important that merchants monitor these services in the same way you monitor the status of the Shopify platform overall (with alerts via Uptime) – and that’s why we built Third Party App Monitoring into Uptime.
How to monitor Third Party App statuses
To monitor third party app statuses simply head over to the Third Party Apps tab in your Uptime app.
From there you will see a list of some of the top apps on the App Store, including:
